Assess the concentration of flammable and explosive gases on board the ship’s inert state (Ship’s Gas free Survey) in the ship’s storage tank before repairing, welding and cutting.
According to QCNV 34:2018/BLDTBXH National standards on labor safety working in confined spaces, fire and explosion safety is one of the most important factors. Especially for tanks of gasoline, oil, liquefied petroleum gas or mines, checking the concentration of flammable gas before work is an urgent task
When ships carrying Gas/petroleum enter the shipyard for repair, to ensure To be safe, it is necessary to use Nitrogen gas to remove all remaining Gas/Petroleum in the tanks ( Gas Free ). We will check the concentration of flammable gases that can cause fire and explosion and certify safety conditions for repair.
After repairs are completed, there will be enough oxygen in the ship’s tanks, which will cause a fire or explosion when pumping cargo into the tank. Therefore, it is necessary to push the amount of Oxygen out of the tank with Nitrogen gas ( Gassing up) . We will check the amount of Oxygen remaining in the tank and certify pump eligibility.
The measurement process is performed by our technicians using a specialized gas meter that has been calibrated annually and under the supervision of a customer representative.
